Beneath the branches of an old gum tree, a small waterhole becomes a place of gathering. Sheep rest along the bank, others pause to drink, while a few graze quietly in the foreground. There is a beautiful stillness here, a sense of belonging and the quiet comfort of familiar rhythms. Rich, expressive texture and a winter palette of blues and greens bring depth and movement to this peaceful country scene, capturing the understated beauty of rural Australia.

Part of my Gather collection, Where the Stories Live celebrates the places and moments that bring us together, holding memories and stories long after the moment has passed. Although this original oil painting has found its forever home, I invite you to linger here and imagine the feeling it might bring to your own space. For art collectors and interior designers seeking original Australian art, these country scenes offer a timeless connection to the landscape and the feeling of home.

If this painting is your favourite, I would love to create a similar original oil painting just for you, inspired by the places, colours and feelings that mean the most to you.
