These two small paintings celebrate a male and female superb fairy wren, tiny birds whose presence carries a world of meaning for me.

They take me back to my childhood on the farm, where the rhythms of country life and the beauty of the natural world became part of who I am. Today, I am lucky enough to have these delightful little birds living in the garden near my studio in Lancefield, their cheerful songs drifting through the day as I paint. There is something rather special about the way they go about their lives, easy to overlook if you aren't paying attention, yet full of colour, character and quiet joy. Painted as a pair, these little works celebrate the beauty of Australian birdlife and the connections to place that stay with us, wherever life takes us.

Although these original oil paintings have found their forever home, I hope they bring a smile to anyone who has stopped to watch a fairy wren in their own garden. For art collectors and interior designers seeking original Australian art, these petite bird paintings offer an intimate, nature-inspired touch, perfect for bringing a little colour and country charm into a treasured corner of the home.

If this pair is your favourite, I would love to create a similar set of original oil paintings inspired by the birds, memories or special places that feel like home to you.
